DAY 3: PILIP STILL DUCKING DEBATES.
SUOZZI HAS ACCEPTED WABC, WNBC, NY1, AND NEWS 12.
MAZI: ONE CABLE DEBATE 5 DAYS BEFORE ELECTION
Suozzi Campaign: “Why is Mazi Pilip hiding?”
Glen Cove, NY – In an attempt to duck any broadcast televised debates and to avoid any need to take positions, Mazi Pilip has agreed to a News12 debate on February 8th, five days before the election and well after early voting starts.
At this time former Congressman Tom Suozzi has accepted invitations for debates to be aired on WABC, WNBC/Telemundo, NY1/WNYC, and News12.
“Mazi Pilip needs to let the people of Nassau and Queens know where she stands on the issues,” said Suozzi for Congress senior advisor Kim Devlin. “Participating in only one cable debate that is five days before the election and five days after early vote begins is unacceptable. Why is Mazi Pilip hiding?”
Pilip has agreed to participate in the News12 debate to be held on February 8, 2024. Early voting for the special election to held on February 13, will begin on February 3, 2024.
“Mazi Pilip has spent the short time she has been in this race either refusing to answer questions or talking out of both sides of her mouth,” said Devlin.
We’ve seen that kind of candidate before, George Santos, and voters demand better.”
As has been noted in numerous news accounts, Pilip has been less than forthcoming when asked about the issues that are at play in this campaign.
DAY THREE: QUESTION PILIP WON’T GIVE A STRAIGHT ANSWER-
Do you support an assault weapons ban?
When asked by Newsday about gun violence prevention, Pilip seems to talk out of both sides of her mouth.
“Pilip also did not directly answer whether she’d support a federal assault weapons ban, but said she was against civilians owning them.” Newsday 12/19/2023
In addition, similar to her two previous campaigns, Pilip is endorsed by the Nassau Conservative Party, which opposes all efforts to ban assault weapons.
The Suozzi campaign’s question today for Pilip follows their question for her yesterday, which remains unanswered: “Who did you vote for in the 2020 presidential election?”
When Pilip either refuses to answer questions or doesn’t really answer, once again it begs the question: What is Mazi Pilip trying to hide?
