Suozzi Launches Campaign in “America’s First Suburb” Levittown

In a nod to his record of bipartisanship, Suozzi was joined by Democrat and Republican local families, veterans, and union members

Glen Cove, NY – Former Congressman Tom Suozzi, today launched his campaign in Levittown, NY. He was joined by over 100 local families, veterans, and members of local unions. The press conference was held at the home of Tom Cavanagh, a veteran and retired NYPD deputy police inspector, who is a registered Republican, and who also spoke at the press conference.

On Thursday, December 7th, Suozzi was nominated to run in the special election to fill the vacancy left by George Santos in New York’s Third Congressional District. The election will be held on February 13, 2024.

“Washington is broken; it’s erupted into chaos,” stated Suozzi. “It needs to do better for the people.

“I have always worked with anyone of goodwill, regardless of party affiliation, if it meant working to fix things and deliver results to the people I represented,” continued Suozzi.

In addition to Suozzi, Cavanagh also spoke.

“Tom Suozzi is pro-law enforcement, he is a gentleman, and he does what he says,” said Cavanagh. “I’m a registered Republican, but I have always voted for Tom Suozzi, and I always will.”

Suozzi touted his solid record of working across the aisle to deliver for Long Island and Queens.

“I have worked with Democrats and Republicans to make sure our veterans receive free mental health treatment,” remarked Suozzi. “I took on polluters to protect our water, and I supported our local police to help combat gun violence and gangs.

“People, like the families standing with me today, know they can trust me to do right by them because they know I will work with anyone and everyone to fix the problems they face.”

“I am excited to go to all the neighborhoods in the Third Congressional District and talk to residents about my record of delivering back to Long Island and Queens and what I will fight for in Congress,” concluded Suozzi. “Let’s fix this!”
