Suozzi Releases Fourth TV Ad Ahead of Special Election: “Border”
Pushes back on the false attacks by his opponent and sets the record straight
Glen Cove, NY – Former Congressman Tom Suozzi, today released his fourth television ad ahead of the February special election. The ad, entitled “Border,” will begin airing today with a significant buy on broadcast and cable.
The TV ad pushes back on his opponent, Mazi Pilip’s false attacks and sets the record straight on Suozzi’s long-standing bipartisan record on immigration, including standing up to his own party on border security.
Suozzi’s ad, “Border,” can be seen here.
A transcript of the TV ad “Border” appears below:
VO:
You’ve been hearing a lot of nonsense blaming Tom Suozzi for the migrant
problem.
Really?
FOX HOST:
As the left pushes to abolish ICE, here now is one of the few Democrats
who voted to support this vital agency.
TOM:
ICE is an important government agency—they have an important job to do
in this country securing our border—I support strong border security.
VO:
Tom Suozzi will work with both parties to close illegal immigration routes,
but open paths to citizenship for those who follow the rules.
TOM:
And anything else you might hear…is garbage.
I’m Tom Suozzi and I approve this message.
Tom Suozzi stands by his record on immigration enforcement. Throughout his career in public service, Suozzi has advocated for a commonsense, bipartisan compromise to achieve comprehensive immigration reform, something that has eluded Congress for decades. Suozzi’s approach to the immigration and border crisis, as is with all issues, is unequivocal; he will work with anybody if they genuinely care about solving problems.
The immigration and border crisis figures prominently in Suozzi’s 10-Point Plan to help restore sanity in Washington and was the topic of the first press conference he held since being named the nominee in the special election on February
While Mazi Pilip’s campaign continues its false attacks on Suozzi’s record, her plan to “secure the border” is light on word count (just over 50 words) and, most importantly, light on substance.
